Transition From Yearn to Strive

This session marks the transition from the Yearn Phase to the Strive Phase in the Finding Clarity journey. The focus shifts from understanding what we desire to executing the steps needed to achieve it. The Strive Phase is about action, discipline, and structuring life intentionally to align with one’s Kitab Goal—the life purpose we want to present to Allah.

Key Themes & Concepts:

1. Recap of Previous Phases

  • Recognize Phase: Asked “Why do I feel or think this way?”

  • Yearn Phase: Asked “What would my ideal life look like?”

  • Strive Phase: Now asks “What steps do I need to take daily to live that life?”

2. The Strive Phase – The Execution of Purpose

  • Focuses on building habits, routines, and systems to create lasting transformation.

  • The goal is to make living with purpose a structured part of life, rather than an abstract goal.

  • The next phase (Elevate) will ensure consistency and sustainability of these habits.

3. Structuring Life Around Salah

  • The Salah-centered system is the foundation for success:

    • Night Routine: Ending the day with Isha in the masjid, preparing for Tahajjud.

    • Morning Routine: Starting the day early, maximizing the quiet hours before Fajr.

    • Daily Productivity Blocks: Structuring work, energy, and rest around Dhuhr, Asr, and Maghrib.

  • This rhythm of prayer builds discipline, focus, and spiritual connection, ensuring alignment with one’s Kitab Goal.

4. Aligning Passion & Peak Performance

  • Finding purpose unlocks peak performance.

  • Studies in flow states and high performance (e.g., Steven Kotler’s research, Atomic Habits, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People) show that people achieve their highest potential when their daily actions align with their purpose.

  • The Kitab Goal shifts focus from ego-driven success (status, validation) to Allah-centered success, which is deeply fulfilling and eternal.

5. Practical Steps for the Strive Phase

  • Set clear execution dates – What milestones will move you closer to your Kitab Goal?

  • Identify distractions – Week 1 of Strive will focus on eliminating the biggest barriers to success.

  • Build small, stackable habits – Sustainable transformation comes from consistent actions, not grand resolutions.

Action Steps for This Week:

Reassess your Kitab Goal – Is it clear, actionable, and centered around Allah?
Structure your day around Salah – Use prayer as the foundation for discipline.
Set specific goals & deadlines – Start scheduling your transformation, don’t leave it vague.
Prepare for Week 1 of Strive – Be ready to tackle distractions that derail progress.

This session concludes with a reminder that success isn’t just about knowing your purpose—it’s about living it daily with intention and action. The Strive Phase is where transformation becomes reality. BarakAllahu feekum.
